Save the Date! Support AVEDA's Earth Day Event in NYC!

Pigeon Dynamite would like to announce an event coming on Earth Day (April 7th) by AVEDA's The Global Cut-a-thon !!!

 Here are the details;

Earth Month is the time that we come together to make a real difference for clean water, because Clean Water is Pure Happiness to children, animals and the planet itself.  The Aveda Institute New York has set a fundraising goal of $17,000 and will host many events and activities throughout the months of March and April.  Most notably, The Aveda Institute will participate in a Global Cut-A-Thon and Beyond on Monday, April 7, 2014. Over 50 Aveda students and professional salon stylists will volunteer their time to offer haircuts and beauty services in return for a donation to Earth Month, a simple and beautiful way for their guests to actively care for the environment.

Aveda professionals in more than 30 countries have collectively raised more than $32 million for in support of Earth Month since the campaign’s inception in 1999. Beginning in 2007, Aveda has donated Earth Month proceeds to organizations working to combat the clean water crisis – to date more than $26 million have been directed to support hundreds of clean water projects on six continents. Funds raised by Aveda Institute New York will benefit Clean Ocean Action – a New Jersey Based foundation bringing aide to the waterways of New York State and New Jersey.

Last year our global network of beauty professional and corporate employees in more than 30 countries passionately pursued our goal of protecting and preserving clean water for everyone, everywhere by organizing thousands of events to raise a total of $5.5 million for clean water. We also set a Guinness World Record for the Most Money Raised for Charity through Haircuts in a 24 Hour Period during our Global Cut-A-Thon. Other heavy-hitting fund raisers included our Light the Way™ Candles, CatWalk for Water fashion shows and ‘Appointments for Clean Water,’ which let Aveda guests in salons, spas and retail stores donate a portion of their service fee to clean water programs. Since 1999 we have raised over $32M to help support organizations that directly affect environmental change. More than $26M of that amount has funded clean water projects at home and around the world.

During the event we will also have a silent auction for Clean Ocean Action.  Paul O’Rourke Design is donating a handmade beach tote and jewelry designer Pigeon Dynamite is donating an exclusive Vintage Large Butterfly Motif Charm and Swarovski Tear Drop Peacock Blue Crystal with Vintage Lucien Piccard Gold Chain Necklace.  DJ Luii2times will be providing music for the event.
