Why Pigeon Dynamite?

It's been already over six months since my brand Pigeon Dynamite debuted in Etsy this year.

Some of you might know though it was actually established in 2012.

The previous name of the brand was Pigeon Robot, but my collection

was initially started in a different blog which I won't give the name of.

But just to talk a little bit about it (mostly for my sentimental nostalgia), I named my old blog from a Japanese porn star 

who had attempted to suicide but failed at that time.

(She eventually succeeded and died.)

I might thought of keeping the name if she didn't die, but when I finally decided to 

put my brand name out in public, it just didn't seem like it was a good idea

to put a name from someone dead specially when she killed herself.

Then why not Pigeon Robot? 

Well I have to say that "Pigeon" was already decided.

I thought that Pigeon was a good representation of the city of New York

and also peace.

Personally, I am not a fan of birds-most of them, maybe except penguins.

But it was kind of a flash that instantly made me feel that was a right fit for the brand image.

Then "dynamite" part came in. I thought that was a cool idea to have a word that 

conflicts with the first part of the brand name.

It just had a kind of a punch to its sound.

Pigeon Dynamite.

I still like the part "Robot" so who knows? 
I might keep it for my new business line for the future..

Yea I wish I could say there are more to the name, like more philosophical meaning to it,
but really there isn't.

because still  Pigeon Dynamite rocks.

私のブランドPigeon DynamiteがETSYにオープンして早くも半年以上が過ぎました。
いや、ブランド自体は２０１２年からあったんですが。

そもそもジュエリーラインとしては最初はPigeon Robotだったんです。
でもその当時はブログでしか紹介してなくて、販売もしてませんでした。
だいたいブログのタイトル自体が、（当時）自殺未遂した日本のAV女優名からきてたという
何とも突飛な始まりでして、
挙句その女優も次の自殺を果たしてしまって、命を落とされてしまったので
そうなったらちょーっとブログ名も故人から（しかも自殺者）から取るのは
どうかと思いまして、いったんやめたんですね。

では、なんでPigeon Robotでは駄目だったのか？
ピジョン、の方はもう決定だったのです。一応。
何かと聞かれるんですが、何故かと言われたら
単にNYを代表する動物だから、と答えています。
あと平和のシンボルでもあるので。
個人的に鳩は大嫌いで、鳥自体凄く苦手なんです。
あ、でもペンギンは好きです。
（鳥類として見てます）
とにかく鳩のシルエットや、ブランドのコンセプトから
何となくぴたりとはまるものがあったので、決定させて頂きました。
その後、dynamiteの部分がひらめいたんです。
何となく、平和のシンボルと相反する意味合いもあって良いなと思いました。
何よりパンチがあって良いじゃないですか。
Pigeon Dynamiteって。

未だにロボット、の方も好きなのでいずれは違うラインでなり使うかもです。

はい、ホント、もっと深い意味合いとかあったら格好いいんですが。
それだけです。
でも、良いんです。
