Brighter than the sunshine underground

Yesterday was such a bright day to be in America.
I am not trying to be political here but I'm not afraid to say that I do believe everyone has a right to love a person whether he or she is gay or lesbian or straight.
Since I am a person who legally married an American, I've been always concerned about how DOMA was affecting not only American gay couples rights but also the immigration law among these couples who married American citizens legally in some states but
not recognized by the federal law to waive their immigration status
to stay with their partners in America.
The step to become a legal spouse to an American citizen as a foreigner isn't particularly easy but it is pretty straightforward.
USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) initiates all the steps for foreigners to become permanent residents and citizens.
The requirements do not ask whether you are gay or not, certain papers you need to provide do not show who you love.

I believe yesterday was the day that we finally started correcting errors that
we've been fighting to correct.

Recently, I was commissioned to do a custom order
for his 10th year anniversary piece for his wife.
I was so honored to be given such an opportunity to make a special piece and
made a pair of earrings with something to represent their 10 years of journey
and 3 children they have.
The earrings use 3 small vintage gold plates connected to each crystals (two on one side and one on the other) connected with one gold chain representing the family.
And I added 10 layers of various kinds of vintage chains and one extra to represent their unique journey they've had and the future journey.

I am hoping that one day, in near future, all the couples in America (and Japan too) can celebrate their anniversaries with their partners, whether they are gay or not,
whether their partners are citizen or not,
without having a culture of degrading gay and lesbian,
without any threat of getting their partners deported by the law.
I believe America is in progress of creating a bright path for the future generation.
